visual art

                                         Visual Art

Hi bloggers in Week 7 we decided to make our favourite endemic and native bird and we had to fill the bird with geometric shapes. I chose a kaka it is a wild life parrot.

The things we needed to draw our bird were that we had to use:
  • acrylic paint
  • brushes
  • paper
  1. So, we had to chose an animal
  2. then we had to find a photo of our animal
  3. we had to trace the bird on our google drawing then our teacher printed the picture of the bird that we traced. Some people did it in their art book.
  4.  Then we had our big papers and we primed them. Prime means that we had to paint the background white.
  5. Some people had to just trace on the big paper and some had to draw on the paper
  6.  then when we had done that we had to chose a minimum of 4 colours for our bird. I chose red, yellow, green and dark green.
  7. Then we applied it.
So this is my finished work

I like the different kind of shapes and the colour.
One thing I would like to change is that I could do colours like red then green then yellow and last dark green. And I would also change is to draw the bird in the middle rather then on the side.

Zoo

Hi, bloggers as part of our inquiry we went to the Auckland zoo.  We were pretty much looking for the New Zealand animals because that was our part of the inquiry. First we were standing together on the grass and the guide was telling us about the rules and whats going to happen. So first we where told to go and see some animals that where close to where we were standing we had come back to the  spot we were standing at 10:30. Me and my group saw the red pandas, tigers and the otters. When we came back we had to be in our individual classes and we had our guide then one by one we went to see the animals. The first animals that we went to see were the birds we saw different kind of birds the birds were kereru, komako, kaka and Tieke. After that we went to see the reptiles we saw the lizards and the tuatara  the guide told a really interesting fact that the tuatara breathes once in an hour. Then after we watched the tuatara we had our morning tea then we went of to explore things because we had half an hour then we went back to the spot we were in the beginning . We had some more snack while we were waiting for the other groups to come. When all the groups were here the guide told groups for a insect group name my group was called killer . After when all the groups had their group name we went inside the bug lab there was lots of information about the bugs and their pictures. Then our bus arrived and that was the end. I really liked I wish that zoo says us to come and vist the zoo again sometime.

Tiritiri Matangi

Hi bloggers!  on Thursday  something really special happen. We went to Tiritiri Matangi island it is a wildlife sanctuary for endangered birds. We saw many endangered birds and animals endangered mean like an animal closely to be extinct. We learned a lot of information about the birds and also some stories about them. We also learned some stuff about the insects. We went for a walk for 1 hour and we had to reach the light house for lunch  so in the walk we learned information about the animals. The guide us told that they had the giant centipede they thought that the giant centipede was extinct but it wasn't. They also said that they had Takahe and they where not many of them left in the world. Then after 1 hour we reached the light house and we had our lunch. After lunch our groups went inside and outside to find information about the birds when we had done the information we had a look at the light house.  25 min later we went to the beach so that we can wait for the ferry. We climbed rocks, picked different kinds of shells and then it was time to leave we went to the ferry. Then we arrived to Auckland and we sat on the bus and after some time we reached school it was really dark and it was 5 pm it was really fun on the island. 😍   Here are some pics.📷
